I came to therapy work from a background in education, both coaching sports and as an elementary and middle school teacher.  After years of witnessing the dynamics that walked through the classroom door every morning, I wanted to learn another way to help the children and families I was serving.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a minor in Dance. After teaching, I went on to earn my Master's in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a certified Yoga instructor with an emphasis in yoga psychology, RYT-500 and an Integrative Restoration® Yoga Nidra Meditation teacher. I am an EMDR practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and hold a certificate in Nutritional Psychology. I am also a Somatic Experiencing® Practioner—Dr. Peter Levine’s integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and relief of psychological stress.

I have pursued my clinical work in schools as a counselor and in agency settings doing family and community-centered work. The combination of both psychodynamic and somatic therapy modalities allows me to work with students and clients to utilize their bodies as a diagnostic tool for psycho-emotional and spiritual blocks.

I work with people in the following ways:

  • Individual and family psychotherapy

  • Yoga and somatic therapy / establishing a meditation practice

  • Nutritional Psychology assessment and psychoeducation

  • Facilitating yoga and somatic-based therapy groups

  • Teaching yoga and mindfulness in schools

  • Teaching trainings for mental health clinicians

  • Designing and leading professional development in social/emotional learning for educators

  • Consulting with therapists wanting to incorporate yoga into their practice, including those with clients who have experienced trauma

As a mother and teacher I bring a multi-faceted expertise in human development to my therapy clients, incorporating both eastern and western traditions. I believe in each individual’s honest self-inquiry and resolve to guide you through a holistic and integrative approach to self-healing.
